About Ruavira
Ruavira is a Calgary practice that architects healthcare quality and patient-safety systems along the Canada–Africa seam — organised around five functions, with a Bench of ten senior practitioners and 150+ years of pooled practice across continents.
Mission and Vision
To strengthen healthcare quality where it matters most
Ruavira exists to ensure that the institutions, regulators, and people delivering care — across Canada and across Africa — get the quality systems, patient-safety architecture, and digital infrastructure that turn occasional excellence into reliable, measurable, repeatable practice.
We close the gap between ambition and execution by pairing deep clinical and quality expertise with genuine technical craft — and by working at the seam between contexts that rarely learn from each other.
Care that's reliably good, not occasionally heroic
We envision a future in which every institution working to improve health outcomes has the quality architecture, the workforce capability, and the digital systems to make high-quality care the default, not the exception.
Our long-term ambition is to be the recognised Canada–Africa anchor for healthcare quality systems architecture — trusted by regulators, respected by practitioners, and measurable in the lives of the people whose care improves as a result.
Our Story
Ruavira Collective Inc. is a Calgary-based practice working at the intersection of healthcare quality, patient safety, digital transformation, and workforce development. We are a practice in the medicine-and-law sense — standing infrastructure rather than transactional consulting — organised around five functions and a Bench of senior practitioners who lend depth where their domain matches the engagement. Together, we bring more than 150+ years of pooled practice to every engagement we accept.
The conviction behind Ruavira is simple: the institutions and professionals doing the most consequential work in health and human development — health ministries, regulators, hospital networks, NGOs, training institutions, and the practitioners inside them — are too often under-served by their advisors and technology partners. They need partners and collaborators who understand frontline realities, not just frameworks. Platforms designed for the political and institutional contexts they will actually run in. Training that genuinely shifts practice in busy clinical environments. We were built to be that partner — small enough to stay close, deep enough to carry the work.
Our model reflects how serious expertise actually accumulates today. The Practice runs across five functions — Sales & Partnerships, Practice & IP, Delivery & Client Success, Brand & Communications, and Operations — held by founder-led leadership. The Bench is ten senior practitioners with day jobs at named institutions across Canada, Nigeria, the UK, and the US. Each holds a defined domain and contributes where their depth best matches the work at hand. Their named affiliations across this site reflect institutions they have served or partnered with across their careers; combined, those careers are what give Ruavira its credibility and its reach.
Our Values
These are the principles that shape every decision we make, every engagement we take on, and every relationship we build.
Mission-Driven
Every engagement is grounded in a clear social purpose. We don't measure success by contracts won — we measure it by outcomes achieved and lives improved.
Innovation-Focused
We apply the best of modern technology — thoughtfully and contextually. Innovation at Ruavira means the right solution for the right problem, not technology for its own sake.
Collaboration-Centred
We believe the best solutions are co-created. We work alongside our partners — not for them — bringing deep listening, shared accountability, and genuine partnership to every project.
Impact-Measured
We are rigorous about outcomes. From the design phase through to delivery, we build in the monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks that help our partners prove and improve their impact.
Our Approach
Every engagement follows the same fundamental arc — grounded in deep understanding, shaped by co-creation, and sustained through genuine partnership.
Discover
We listen deeply
Before we recommend anything, we invest in understanding. We conduct structured discovery — speaking with your stakeholders, analysing your context, and mapping the systems and constraints that shape your challenge. We don't arrive with pre-packaged answers. We arrive with the right questions.
Design
We co-create solutions
Great solutions are built with people, not for them. In our design phase, we work alongside your teams to translate insight into architecture — whether that's a digital platform, a training programme, or a strategic roadmap. We prototype, iterate, and validate before a single line of code is written or a course goes live.
Deliver
We build and sustain
Delivery is where intent becomes reality. We ship high-quality, production-ready work — and we don't disappear after go-live. We build in handover, training, and ongoing support to ensure our partners have the capability to own and evolve what we've built together.
How Ruavira is organised
We organise the Practice around five functions — the capabilities a serious health-quality practice needs to deliver reliably and grow responsibly. A Bench of 10 senior practitioners brings specialist depth across all five.
Revenue and alliance relationships across regulators, hospital networks, donors, and academic partners.
The engine room — methodology, frameworks, productised offerings, ISO 7101 implementation, regulatory technology.
Live engagements, client relationships, delivery quality, and outcome measurement — Bench depth drawn in to match the work.
Voice, visual identity, and distribution across every external surface — held in a consistent, reference-checkable voice.
Finance, HR, legal, vendor and infrastructure compliance — the mechanics of running a federal corporation reliably.

Ayodeji is a healthcare quality architect with over twenty years of international practice across Africa and Canada. He is the creator of an end-to-end electronic accreditation management ecosystem — a role-based web platform, a companion surveyor mobile application, a surveyor certification programme built around the Mentored Assessment Tool (MAT), and a suite of eLearning courses spanning accreditation, quality management, and patient safety — deployed at national scale to oversee more than 600 training institutions. His work spans the major international accreditation frameworks used in healthcare today — JCI, COHSASA, SafeCare, and the ISO healthcare management standards — and he served on the technical team that developed ISO 7101: Healthcare organization management. He has supported the World Health Organization on technical and advisory groups in quality and patient safety, contributed to the WHO Quality Toolkit, and trained quality-improvement coaches in Thailand in consultancy with HealthQual International. Through Banyan Global, he developed national CPD programmes that serve more than 500,000 healthcare workers; through PharmAccess, he led the SafeCare Kwara Programme — a quality certification and remote-care initiative that improved care for over two million people. He is an ISQua Expert, an Improvement Advisor and Faculty with IHI, and a member of the International Academy of Quality and Safety. As Ruavira's Lead Architect, he is the principal accountable for every client engagement and the convening figure of the Practice.
