The Practice

A practice with a bench.

Ruavira is a Calgary practice that architects healthcare quality and patient-safety systems along the Canada–Africa seam. Organised around five functions, with a Bench of ten senior practitioners — each holding a distinct domain. 150+ years of pooled practice across continents.

We don't parachute. We architect, we co-build, and we leave the system better than we found it — with named partners, named institutions, and references you can call.

Five functions, one practice

We organise the Practice around five functions — the capabilities a serious health-quality practice needs to deliver reliably and grow responsibly. Bench Architects bring specialist depth across all five.

01 · Sales & Partnerships

Revenue and alliance relationships

Where engagements originate, partner agreements form, and the Practice's commercial surface is held — with regulators, hospital networks, donors, and academic partners.

02 · Practice & IP

The engine room

Methodology, frameworks, and productised offerings — the substantive intellectual property of the Practice. ISO 7101 implementation, regulatory technology, accreditation systems.

03 · Delivery & Client Success

Executing live engagements

Client relationships, delivery quality, and outcome measurement on every engagement. Where Bench depth is drawn in to match the work at hand.

04 · Brand & Communications

Voice, visual, distribution

The Practice's external presence across every surface — website, publications, partner-facing collateral — held in a consistent, reference-checkable voice.

05 · Operations

Finance, HR, legal, infrastructure

The behind-the-scenes capability that lets the Practice ship reliably — vendor management, compliance, contracting, infrastructure, the mechanics of running a federal corp.

Who leads the Practice

Ayodeji Samuels — Lead Architect, Ruavira Practice

Ayodeji is a healthcare quality architect with over twenty years of international practice across Africa and Canada. He is the creator of an end-to-end electronic accreditation management ecosystem — a role-based web platform, a companion surveyor mobile application, a surveyor certification programme built around the Mentored Assessment Tool (MAT), and a suite of eLearning courses spanning accreditation, quality management, and patient safety — deployed at national scale to oversee more than 600 training institutions. His work spans the major international accreditation frameworks used in healthcare today — JCI, COHSASA, SafeCare, and the ISO healthcare management standards — and he served on the technical team that developed ISO 7101: Healthcare organization management. He has supported the World Health Organization on technical and advisory groups in quality and patient safety, contributed to the WHO Quality Toolkit, and trained quality-improvement coaches in Thailand in consultancy with HealthQual International. Through Banyan Global, he developed national CPD programmes that serve more than 500,000 healthcare workers; through PharmAccess, he led the SafeCare Kwara Programme — a quality certification and remote-care initiative that improved care for over two million people. He is an ISQua Expert, an Improvement Advisor and Faculty with IHI, and a member of the International Academy of Quality and Safety. As Ruavira's Lead Architect, he is the principal accountable for every client engagement and the convening figure of the Practice.

Ten Architects, ten domains

Each Architect is a senior practitioner in a defined domain — the kind of depth that takes a career to build. Their named affiliations across this page reflect institutions they have served or partnered with across their careers, not their current employer.
